Survey management, Confidentiality and Terms and Conditions

Survey management

The survey has been developed to be part of the University’s systematic evaluation program, managed by Business Intelligence and Reporting (BIR) in consultation with the Chancellery (Research). BIR is responsible for operational aspects of the survey and for reporting of results. The Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate and International Research) and Deans and Associate Deans (Research Training) of administering faculties are responsible jointly for following up results and initiating discussion within schools and departments on action at local levels to respond to feedback and to improve students’ experience.

Confidentiality

We hope you will give us a frank assessment of your research experience. Your answers are confidential and you will not be identified in any reporting. We are aware that small student numbers in some units mean that we must be sensitive to the ways data can be reported so that particular identities cannot be deduced or guessed at. Accordingly, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate and International Research) and BIR will ensure that confidentiality of information is maintained. You are asked at the end of the survey for your permission for your comments on supervision and resources to be reported to senior officers in your faculty. If you choose not to give your permission, your comments will not be distributed outside of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Graduate and International Research) and BIR. Comments on University service providers will be forwarded to the relevant manager to follow up on your suggestions and ideas.
