Writing Festival

This workshop has been closed for enrolments. However, it runs twice a semester, and updates of future writing festivals will be made available.

This all-day workshop will explore the academic writing process in order to help you approach your academic writing tasks more effectively. Topics to be covered include:

• Starting:
  analysing the task type and the question, planning and research
• Drafting:
  paragraphing, building a clear argument, developing a strong writer’s voice and using sources
• Finishing:
  editing, polishing your structure with a focus on paragraphs and sentences, use of language, cohesion and style

You will have opportunities for targeted writing practice.

This is a BYOD (Bring your own device) session, so you will need to bring along a laptop, tablet or smart device.
